Rock toward the feet after signaling, open-
ing the body as the receiver inhales.
1.a. Accordion Inclined Toward The body
is inclined inward, cheek on your upper arm.
Rock toward the head on the exhale and signal.
Open the body slightly, rocking toward
the feet. Unweight the head, opening your
head elbow to give it space.
Rock toward the head, submerging the legs
first to telegraph. Submerge only half the
face on the first dive, the head sideways.
Continue rocking headwards and footwards
in rhythm. Your head hand between the
shoulder blades will keep the buoyant
receiver in the absolute space.
Pre-support the head in your head arm and
surface rocking toward the feet to keep
the hair out of the face. Continue opening
and folding the Accordion on the surface.

1.b. Accordion Rolled Away Rotate 45º
side to side in Horse Stance in the Accor-
dion Position without opening or closing.
Here we see the rotation 45º headwards
on the outbreath. Signal and rotate
footwards once more on the inbreath.
Rotating headwards, roll partner gently
away from you into a Father submerging,
maintaining the Accordion position.
Lean on partner with your chest and foot
arm around the thighs to keep her under.
Open your elbow to give the head freedom.
Continue in the surface rhythm, rotating
45º sideways without folding together or
opening. Sink low to keep the near arm in
the absolute space.
Roll partner toward you, pre-supporting
the head. Surface rotating footwards to
keep the hair out of the face. Continue
with a few more cycles of rotation.

2. Far Leg Rotation Establish the Watsu
movement cycle on the surface, rotating
from Warrior to Warrior Stance footwards.
Your wrist under partner’s far knee allows a
spacious movement. We see the rotation head-
wards from Warrior to Horse to Warrior.
A Mother submerging rolled toward is
shown, although a Father dive works well,
too. Push down the far shoulder.
Crouch low in the water to maintain the
absolute space, sweeping all the way to the
Foot Warrior.
Returning headwards, it is easy to maintain
the receiver completely underwater by
leaning forward onto her. Open your elbow
away from the head.
Pre-supporting the head, surface in rhythm
footwards and rolled towards to stream the
hair off the face.

Partner inhales during the arching/inhale
phase of the wave.
3. Heart Wave Below Do the Heart Wave
Toward on the surface, body at 45º. Signal
in the rounding/exhale phase on the back.
Submerge in rhythm as the next rounding
begins. Withdraw your hips to free the
near arm, or do so manually, shoehorning.
Open your elbows to the side and be careful
not to dislodge the clip. Maintain partner on
her side as you Baby Godzilla backwards.
Position your arm under the head before
surfacing in the Heart Wave Away. The
head will be heavy, so be sure the mouth is
out of the water. This dive can be reversed.
Use fascial countertraction in the Heart
Sandwich to shape the Heart Wave Be-
low. Allow the movement to translate up
into the neck and head.

Rotate headwards as partner takes her
last inbreath before submerging.
4. Hara Hug Set the position and rhythm
on the surface, rotating footward as partner
exhales. Signal at the end of this exhale.
Your head arm supports the cheek on the
surface but takes the heart underwater,
leaving the head free.
Submerge the position in rhythm by hug-
ging the buoyant receiver to you and
crouching low in the water.
Pre-support the head on surfacing. Make
sure the mouth is out of the water and the
head and neck aligned with the rest of the
spine. Continue the original rotating.
Keep partner’s shoulder submerged as you
continue to rotate. Your head hand holds
the heart, the elbow extended to give the
head its freedom to move.
