To replicate the wave effect do the following: 1. select the pen tool 2. draw any wavy shape to your liking 3. hit ctrl + select the layer you just drew (you will see that the your wavy shape is now selected) 4. select any round brush - pref. aroudn 200 - 300 px, with a hardness of 0% 5. draw around the selection of your shape and the set the shape blend mode to overlay.
