Welcome to Games Workshop’s 2009 Citadel
Miniatures Collector’s Catalogue
W
elcome to the 2009 Collectors Catalogue. The
Collectors range is intended to both complement and
supplement our main ranges which aim to provide all the
essential troops types, characters and machinery required to
assemble an army for Warhammer or Warhammer 40,000 or
build forces to play our The Lord of The Rings game. In
selecting models for the ‘Collectors’ range we have used three
main criteria as explained below.
CONTENTS
Showpiece models are display pieces, often dioramas or set-
pieces, primarily intended for painting and display rather than
gaming. Although this is a small part of the Collectors range at
the moment we hope to add more showpiece models over
time.
Alternative models are metal alternatives to plastic models in
the main range, or alternative character variants too numerous
and varied to include in the main Catalogue. Some of these
models have been drawn from previously discontinued ranges
but compare well in quality to modern designs – others are
brand new additions to the Collectors range.
Historic models are slices of Citadel’s history – they are
models that remain popular amongst collectors either because
they have special significance as design landmarks (such as
the Armour Through The Ages) or because they are charming,
characterful or just plain quirky. Generally speaking, these
models do not match the quality of modern designs and they
are often significantly smaller.
Citadel has been manufacturing cast metal miniatures for
almost 30 years – and during that time we have produced
many thousands of different designs. Although the original
rubber moulds used to make the miniatures wear out and
perish over time, a carefully assembled archive of metal
‘master’ models is maintained enabling us to recreate many
old ‘classics’. Sadly, the archives are not 100% complete by
any means. Some of the production methods used in the early
days utilised conversions of the masters which were then
destroyed during the moulding process. Other masters have
been lost or damaged over time. Models designed to be cast
in old-fashioned lead alloys may be impractical to cast using
modern lead-free alloys and equipment. A proportion of our
older models were produced under licenses that are no longer
valid. Even so, we have an accessible archive of something
like 16,000 different individual cast pieces.
Our policy is to maintain a catalogue of Collectors models of
a size that we can reliably manufacture and supply. We can’t
hope to make all of our entire archives available at once, so
instead we will cycle through our back-catalogues, dropping
pieces where demand is low and adding pieces that are
commonly asked for or which we think will be popular.
Although models will always be retained in the range if there
is genuine demand – we cannot guarantee that any models
will be available year after year – and would suggest that
serious collectors make purchases whilst models are available
rather than taking a chance.
Our Collectors range is growing all the time as we add new
models or recommission moulds from our archives. The
complete and up-to-date catalogue will therefore be found on
our web-site at www.games-workshop.com.

About the Models
Most of the
models in this catalogue are shown
painted. All models are supplied unpainted. All
miniatures are shown at ACTUAL SIZE, unless
otherwise noted. All models that require a base are
supplied with the correct plastic Citadel miniature
slottabase.
The models shown in this catalogue are shown
assembled. This is not how they are supplied. All
models will require some assembly. Most models
require nothing more complicated than affixing the
miniature to its plastic base.

This set contains parts to make two Space Marines, one armed with a meltagun and one armed
with a plasma gun. A variety of body designs are available and are supplied at random.

Showpiece
The strange and dangerous worlds of Warhammer and
Warhammer 40,000 come to life under the sculptor’s
touch! We let our expert designers loose to explore the
Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 background
universes however they liked – free from the constraint
of making miniatures strictly for the gaming table. It has
proven an interesting challenge – and here we see only
the very first of what we hope will become a popular
series with top painters and serious collectors.
Animosity Orcs

Greenskins live for violence, and in the absence of any enemies they will cheerfully fight amongst
themselves. This model, sculpted by Alex Hedström, portrays two Orc Boyz settling their differences
with their fists and an unfortunate Night Goblin. This model would make a great marker to represent an
Orc unit stalled by Animosity, or a characterful way of filling out the ranks of an Orc Boyz mob.
Sculpted by Juan Diaz in 2004, the model depicts Tehenhauin as the living vengeance of his kind against those that
desecrate the lands of the Lizardmen. He carries the ‘Blade of the Serpent’s Tongue’, and is surrounded by a swarm of
serpents, beasts of the jungle that are drawn to him and follow him everywhere. The still-beating heart of a Skaven is held
aloft, a sacrifice to Sotek.

The Red Terror, scourge of a thousand battlefields and the fearsome vanguard of the Tyranid Hive Fleets, is a finely-sculpted
miniature by Shane Hoyle. The Red Terror is a great addition to any collection, representing this Tyranid special character.
It can also be used as part of a Tyranid army, representing a particularly vicious Ravener.

Nurglitch was the first Plague Lord of Clan Pestilens. The model, sculpted by Colin Grayson in 2004, depicts Nurglitch as he
goes to battle atop the giant rat Pox. He is accompanied by his attendant Bilios and carries a Bubonic Sceptre.
