Tip 59 for the Sales Managers
Think hard about the people who report to you.
This may seem pretty obvious, but it is only those sales managers who can positively answer the simple test below who can really call themselves sales managers.
· Do you have a specific, achievable and agreed career plan in place for each reporting sales person?
· Are you fully aware of their individual abilities?
· Have you recognized their achievements?
· Do you have a training path that will improve their work and advance their careers?
· Do they have agreed job objectives?
· Do these agreed job objectives effectively use their range of capabilities?
· Have you actively worked with them to help them to achieve their objectives?
· Do they fully understand the factors that determine their salaries?
· Are you consistant in your personal interpretation of your company policies, practices and conditions?
