Brendon:
The reason you do this is because Google loves
video. You type in your topic and videos show up at
the top. Videos are very powerful in search engine
optimization. It’s also very powerful in establishing
rapport so people can see and feel you.
I’ve learned so much from Mike Koenigs, it’s almost
impossible to describe. Many of you have heard of
Mike, have been trained by him; he’s exceptional at
what he does.
He invented Traffic Geyser where you upload it
once, type in the tags, hit enter and it uploads it to all
the video places online, that’s over 50 websites and
your video goes out to the world. It’s unbelievable.
It’s the secret tool that everybody in this space is
using that isn’t probably well known.
He has such a big heart and is such a caring guy.
He won’t admit this, but he’s smart as hell. This guy
is so brilliant, every time I talk to him I think, “I didn't
know I should be doing that.” He always has some
new web strategy or web based idea that is so easy
that all of us can do, it makes me shake.
It’s a little online marketing space that he created
and now it’s gathering a storm. He’s built this hugely
successful organization behind it and he’s one of the
rare breeds that can explain it in a way that it pops
your mind when you see something new but you
also say I can do that and that’s important to me.
I’m always calling and always around Mike. Mike
introduced me personally and formally to Tony
Robbins. Tony and a lot of other people rely on
Mike’s guidance and his connections to
understanding how to succeed in this new world of
online marketing and video.
I count him as a very trusted friend and advisor,
somebody who wanted to share a word with you
about his beliefs about Mike couldn’t be here so we
got this. Can we play that? This is another one of
my friends talking about Mike and extraordinary he
is.
They call on him because he’s a great guy and
super connected, because he’s figured out all these
strategies that all of us can do and because he’s the
inventor of this thing called Traffic Geyser, which, to
me, is the most valuable piece of software I own,
period.

It’s not even software, but a service. Have you ever
gone on YouTube before? When you upload a
video to YouTube for example, something
interesting happens. You have to type in all these
tags, information, and wait for it to upload.
Tony:
Today, I’m here to share and introduce to you a
gentleman who’s a dear friend of mine. He’s helped
me immensely with the idea of how do I get my info
out and engage my customers, and primarily how to
use video to do that through the web.
Then you must go to other video sites and you're
always tagging it and waiting.

He helped me set up my studio and helped me get
going. He’s been a dear friend, but more importantly
he’s been a consultant to some of the biggest
companies in the world.
over and over again. No matter where you
are, if you're starting out from absolutely
square one, in a short period of time you can
be a recognized expert.
Here is a guy that started literally from nothing, but
back in the early days of the web, back in 1991,
most people forget, back in 1989 is when the World
Wide Web was created. Within a few years he was
already the guy that was writing some of the first CD
Rom games and did some of the first Mac games
that existed for Macintosh.
3. A rapid way to create content.
Many are overwhelmed with the video thing, social
media and social marketing blah- blah- blah but
where do I begin? This is great place to begin and
also a great place to end. Everyone needs to
understand this in order to succeed online.
He became the person that when the movie
industry, was the guy that set up all those initial
websites for Sony, Columbia, Tri-Star and Fox, the
guy that managed or helped some of the largest
businesses in the world, 3M, Dominos Pizza, I
mean, the list goes on.
It’s also a great way to get attention, create buzz
and get discovered. I’m going to tell you a good
discovery story in a moment most importantly, a way
to share your message with the world instantly.
Right now we live in what I believe is the greatest
time in human history because we are living in a
friction free distribution environment. You can share
your message with the entire connected planet and
right now 80% of the populated planet has either
Internet access or mobile phone access.
He’s also shown people how to get started from
nothing. I know that’s what he’s probably most
proud of.
I’m going to introduce to you Mike Koenigs, my dear
friend. Welcome Mike.
There a billion and a half Internet connected users
worldwide and four and a half billion mobile phone
users. This is a great way to get free web traffic,
create community and get fans. It works like crazy
building your list, making money and having fun.

Ladies and gentleman, help me welcome to the
stage your guest expert for this evening, Mr. Mike
Koenigs.
As Brendon said, and I completely agree, if work
isn’t fun life isn’t fun. I believe we have a
responsibility and a right to have fun and be able to
share our message with the world.
Mike:
Thank you. Hi. How are you all doing? This is quite
the audience. It’s nice. I’m going to teach you some
stuff. Are you ready to learn? Keep your energy up.
I just dug this up so here is a story for you. This is
the first time I’ve ever shown this off. Yes, I was an
alter boy.
This is my good friend, John Carleton who always
starts out with “here’s what I got for you.” So, here is
what I got for you today. A couple of nice little walk
aways.
I grew up in Eagle Lake, Minnesota, which is close
to Mankato, where the Little House on the Prairie
town, for those of you old enough to remember that
show; population 763. My dad is a barber, the son
of a barber, I’m the oldest of four and that’s the
whole family down below.

I want to make sure that you walk away from
here with something that you can execute and
do rapidly that gets you instantaneous,
immediate results. It’s easy to understand
and easy to execute.
My sister has somewhere around 1,000 kids. I have
one and my brothers have two each. That’s the
family photo from this summer.

A sure fire way to establish yourself as an
expert and an authority and I have proven this

I grew up with no resources, no mentors and no
money. I barely squeaked by with a C- average.
The first day of Kindergarten I came home and said
“Mom, I hate school.” It never changed after that.
I didn't realize it was direct marketing, but I loved
direct mail. I loved reading ads and I used to
memorize
the

Penny
Christmas
catalog.
Wishing, wishing, wishing.
The alter boy picture, anyone who gets to know me
knows that I’m not the best catholic in the world.
We’ll just say that.
Later on, that came in handy because I love film,
video and music and I started a little company called
Digital Café. It was one of the first interactive
agencies and Tony was talking about that. We did
some of the first branded entertainment which
essentially meant we made video games that would
be commercial.
I had a little strategy and that was in order to get out
of going to school I became an alter boy. They
didn't keep track of whether or not you came back
from class.
We had one called Chex Quest that shipped in six
million boxes of breakfast cereal. Chex Quest was
the name of the game. It still has a cult following
some 15 years later. If you search for Chex Quest
in Google you’ll find the game.
I served funerals so I served an average of four to
six per week. In addition to having class mass
which was our classroom and church mass and then
we went on Sunday too so I usually went to church
about ten times a week.
After my partner and I sold the company, we lived
one of our dreams. We had been working on
independent feature projects, we raised enough
money to make about a million dollar feature, and it
got bought by Warner Brothers. That is where I
learned the first lessons about publishing.
This is funny if you're a catholic. You know the
catholic calisthenics where you just walk like this.
It’s not that funny. If you're a catholic it’s funnier
than hell.
The whole deal is sit down, sit down, stand, sit
down, kneel, stand, sit down, kneel, then stand and
that’s the whole process. That was me and that’s
how I got out of going to school all the way through
almost high school.
The movie and music industry and the book
publishing business kind of operate the same way.
They're a friction type of business. In other words
someone is holding the keys. If you want to get on
TV, who do you have to go through, right? If you
want to distribute a book, who do you have to go
through? All the media has been owned.
Present day that’s my wife and my son. My wife will
be here tomorrow. Many of you know Vivian, my
wonderful wife. I like to say I’m a dad, husband and
a nerd and I was a nerd before it was cool to be one,
before Bill Gates rescued us. It was back when we
got beat up for no reason.
The great thing is that it’s been dis-intermediated. I
love that word. Now Internet marketer, author. The
gentleman responsible for getting me into the
business is here and his name is Armand Morin.
He’s going to speak to you tomorrow.
I taught myself how to program. That was my
saving grace. I always liked computers, technology
and direct mail. The man who’s become one of my
greatest mentors and friends to this day is Joe
Sugarman, the BluBlocker sunglasses guy. I used
to love his ads. I would buy magazines or study
them in the library.
My first Internet marketing event was an Armand
Morin event and that’s where I got to see all the
gurus on stage. I can remember thinking I could be
doing that too. I’d love to do that some day. That
was the first time I’d even considered the idea of
speaking and presenting but I didn't know what yet.
Do you remember Bingo cards those little cards with
little numbers? I used to circle all the numbers to
get all the direct mail. My mother thought I was
completely insane and I’d get a box of mail every
day and look through it.
Armand is in the back, you’ll meet him tomorrow,
he’s a great guy you’ll love him. I met a lot of the
people that are now my mentors and friends in the
industry.

I’ll cut to the chase. At the end of the day I love to
teach more than anything in the world. I didn't
discover that until later on, because I was so bad in
school. The greatest experience in life is the
moment when you're speaking to a live audience
and you see the lights go on, the switch turns on and
you see the stars, sparkle and glint in the eye and
it’s like a world opens up.
I’m going to share a story about how Vivian became
an expert and authority on Africa and running a
nonprofit. I’m going to share with you a story of
layers. I’ll give you some ideas today and I’ll get
back to those, and also some concepts you can
leverage and use yourself on multiple layers. I’ll
explain this as we move forward.
Giving back is a great thing. What I love about
Brendon’s audience, his friends, I know that you're
about giving back and operating on a higher level.
This is a higher vibrational community.
There are some great lessons you can directly
leverage and use to make money in this first story as
well as to give back on a massive level and how to
leverage and become an expert and authority.
When you have the ability to give back on a larger
scale than a small tithe but you can give on a
massive scale - my wife has a foundation called the
Just Like My Child Foundation. We’ve been doing
some fun work.
The story begins. My wife Vivian’s parents are
Holocaust survivors so she has a unique
experience. She has basically no living relatives to
speak of. One morning she woke up, it was in the
middle of the night at about 4:00 A.M. in the
morning, and she said, “Mike, I have to go to Africa.”
I asked, “Why Africa?” I’d never argue with
this woman. You’ll meet her and she is a
powerhouse. She’s a nice Jewish girl raised on the
Upper East Side in Manhattan, in Spanish Harlem.
She’s a tough chick.
The greatest gift is when you go into a place where
there is hopelessness and the people see hope for
the first time and they know they can give to their
children and they know they're not going to die.
That is the greatest experience I’ve ever had in my
life.
She went to the Agape church and she met Dr.
Michael Beckwith and the whole clan and ended up
going on a little trip to Africa. Along the way she met
an interesting photographer which went to Senegal
and then to Uganda and she wound up at a little
hospital run by Catholic nuns called the Bishop Asily
and they were delivering babies by kerosene light.
I believe we live in the greatest moment in human
history, the ability to communicate and share our
message and our information with the entire
connected planet. We also live in a time when
individuals can make massive, incredible life
changing impact easily. I’ll show you some proof of
that in a moment.
This is Baby Christina, a day old and her mother
died in childbirth. This was continually happening.
Simple stuff, but people die of the craziest stuff in
poorer regions.
My hope is that we all recognize that we have a
responsibility to generate as much wealth as
possible, share great things and give back to those
who are less fortunate than ourselves. Despite the
buzz that goes on about capitalism being bad and all
this other hokum, it is the most effective way for
ordinary folks to do extraordinary things.
They were feeding her glucose water just to keep
her alive, because they didn't have any formula, etc.
They went into town and got her some milk. She
asked the nuns, “What can I do that will have the
greatest impact possible?”
All of us have the ability to operate on a high and
ethical level and give back on a massive scale. I
have seen it for myself and I’ll talk about it a bit more
but the key, the secret to peace on this planet is the
destruction of ignorance, not terrorism.
You must understand, the nuns there are used to a
bunch of white people coming over saying we're
going to do great things for you and then they
disappear. The hope level goes up and then down.
This is their life. It’s a saw mill. People are dying
around you all the time.
Terrorism is a byproduct of it. That’s my opinion of it
anyway and that’s all the political conversation I’ll
give you tonight.

They said they needed electricity. In Uganda the
electricity runs about four or five hours a week
sometimes so Vivian came back with a mission.
They asked if she would like to come to Detroit to
speak at a fund raising event as an expert and talk
about what’s going on in Africa. She’s thinking,
“You're Africans. Why are you talking to a Jewish
broad?” but she said yes. They paid her flight, gave
her $7,000 toward her generator project and she
wanted to raise $30,000.
While she was there, I gave her a little video camera
and as she would say at the time she was one of the
worst camera operators alive, but she did capture
some experiences while she was there. She was
trying to think who she knew to help make the dream
come true and raise some money. This was before
we were stating to roll in it so to speak.
The bottom line is that this happened multiple times.
Her video was showing up first in Google. I just
grabbed these from the Google video page, but in
Google itself she was showing up. Presumably, I’m
sure they were looking for some angle on how they
could get Angelina Jolie to speak at their little event
and thought well, we’ll take Vivian instead.
We hired a video editor on Craig's List for about
$500 who cut her footage into a story. She told her
story about what she saw and what happened to
her.
Thirty days later she had raised enough money.
When we go to Uganda we bring socks full of cash
over there, under the legal limit of $9,500 I might
add, per person. We convert it because you can’t
trust anything or anyone in these countries.
The layer story number one is learning to tell your
story. The story is what matters most. It’s bearing
witness as the old saying goes. Your experience
told from your point of view with passion, conviction
and authenticity is the fastest way to expose and
open your heart and give yourself completely. That
is exactly what she did.
There is Baby Christina two years later. How do you
like that? All fat and happy.
Here’s the trick layer. Here is her first video. If you
search for “Angelina Jolie Africa” in Google video,
her videos were often times showing up before other
“Angelina Jolie” videos. We named the video “The
Secret to Helping Africa like Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt
and Bono from U2.”
This has been about three years since then. Let me
tell you another story. How many of you were at
Paid for Life this year? We did our second Paid for
Life this year. Again, layers.
Think about how you can leverage your expertise
and relationships. By the way, if Brendon hasn’t
talked about this, know that you are in a high level
room here with very conscious, intelligent people.
These are your partners in the future.
Since then, we’ve called this strategy “standing on
the shoulders of giants.” It’s a very common
strategy to use in the publicity world. You leverage
someone else’s name. By leveraging it, now your
name gets associated with some celebrities. You
can do it with integrity without running into copyright
and trademark issues.
Back when I was at my first Armand event, I met a
bunch of people. Frank Kern, the legendary
marketer is like the Bono of the Internet marketing
world. This guy is a super star of super stars.
You’ll notice her videos showed up in the top right
hand corner on Google video. The bottom line is
she ended up getting calls from the media as an
expert. They asked her if she’d like to talk to us
about Africa, Aids and poverty and she said, “Of
course.”
We did our first event and raised $115,000. We did
this event and charged $1,000 per person, limited it
and taught a very cool concept which we call the
Paid for Life System How to Create Products and
Sell Them Online, Turning Your Know How into
Products and Selling Them .
Here you can see one of her videos where she was
called in, went on television and told her story? She
ended up getting a call from a group of African
businessmen out of Detroit who live in San Diego.
This year we raised over $300,000 and Brendon and
I did it together, but we brought in some other
experts. We brought in John Carleton, Russell
