Cindy packages install instructions
I. Uninstall previous versions :
tip: if your current installed Cindy version is v4.0 or newer, you don' t need to uninstall the components!
Just replace the old Cindy files by new ones (delete old folder and unzip cindy components file at the same location!) and go to II. Install packages section.
In Delphi IDE, select the 'Component' menu and click on 'Install packages' item.
In the new window with the component package list installed, locate:
- "Cindy components pack" item, select it and click the 'Remove' button.
- "Cindy Internet Explorer Wrappers" item, select it and click the 'Remove' button.
- "Cindy design time package" item, select it and click the 'Remove' button.
Click 'Ok' to close the window.
Important note:
Old Cindy package versions (below V2.5) were named like "Tcy something ..." need to be removed like described before installing this new version!
Now, you can delete all files from Cindy components directory.
II. Install packages:
1. "Cindy Design time package" required package before installing other Cindy packages!
2. "Cindy components pack" optional package
3. "Cindy Internet Explorer Wrappers" optional package (need TWebBrowser ActiveX component installed)
4. "Cindy DB Express components" optional package
5. "Cindy Document Element Recognizer" optional package (Not avaible but coming soon)
Unzip downloaded file into any directory.
Tip: to compile and install packages, you can use the "project manager" (On Delphi IDE main menu, click on "View" and select "Project manager"). The project manager panel will be displayed: right click on *.bpl package file and select "Build" or "compile" and finally "Install" like explained bellow:
1. Install "Cindy Design time package" (required by the other packages) :
For Delphi XE3:
Open, compile and install cyComponents\Design\cydesignDXE3.dproj
For Delphi XE2:
Open, compile and install cyComponents\Design\cydesignDXE2.dproj
For Delphi XE:
Open, compile and install cyComponents\Design\cydesignDXE.dproj
For Delphi 2010:
Open, compile and install cyComponents\Design\cydesignD2010.dproj
For Delphi 2009:
Open, compile and install cyComponents\Design\cydesignD2009.dproj
For Delphi 2007 and below:
Open, compile and install cyComponents\Design\cydesign.dpk
For all Delphi versions, you need to add the "cyComponents\Core" directory to the library paths. To do it in the Delphi IDE, click menu "Tools", "(Environment) Options", and select "Library" and finally "library paths". Add the "cyComponents\Core" directory to the list.
2. Optional "Cindy components pack" installation instructions (not required):
Open, compile and install cyComponents\Pack\cyPackDXE3.dproj
Open, compile and install cyComponents\Pack\cyPackDXE2.dproj
Open, compile and install cyComponents\Pack\cyPackDXE.dproj

For Delphi Personal editions (without database controls):
Open, compile and install cyComponents\Pack\cyPackPersonal.dpk

Open, compile and install cyComponents\Pack\cyPack.dpk
For all Delphi versions, you need to add the "cyComponents\Pack" directory to the library paths. To do it in the Delphi IDE, click menu "Tools", "(Environment) Options", and select "Library" and finally "library paths". Add the "cyComponents\Pack" directory to the list.
3. Optional "Cindy Internet Explorer Wrappers" installation instructions (not required):
Because cyIEWrappers component pack is based on ActiveX TwebBrowser component from Microsoft Internet Explorer program, you need to install Microsoft Internet explorer (version 4.0 or higher) on your system and import TwebBrowser ActiveX component in Delphi if it is not already installed.
Note that all computers that runs your program with this package also need Microsoft Internet Explorer installed on the system.
How to install the ActiveX TWebBrowser component in Delphi IDE (if you don' t already have it):
- Start Delphi.
- Click the menu "Component" and select "Import ActiveX Control..."
- In the list, locate and select "Microsoft Internet Controls".
- Choose the palette for the component
- Click "Install..." and proceed until the end.
