Pat Metheny - The Trios 1975 - 2005 30 years ago, in December 1975, Pat Metheny recorded Bright Size Life, his first album as a leader. And as you already might guess: it's a trio - featuring the legendary Jaco Pastorius on bass, and Bob Moses on drums. Since then, Pat Metheny formed several trios as sideprojects to his work with the Pat Metheny Group and his many other solo and sideman projects. Since 1999, Pat works und tours regularly with his trios. The recent one is featuring Christian McBride on bass, and PMG-drummer Antonio Sanchez. David Sanchez on saxophone joins the group occasionaly, so fans use to call this collaboration "Trio + 1". This compilation contains five complete Pat Metheny albums and one radio broadcast of the latest trio + 1. So the recordings span over a period of exactly three decades now.
